Fear or faith?

6 October 2022 ‘Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.’ Psalm 56:3 NKJV

Fear and faith are both powerful forces. And the one we surrender to will control us. So here are some Scriptures to help us fight fear: ‘Be strong and brave, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, because the Lord God, my God, is with you’ (1 Chronicles 28:20 NCV). ‘The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust’ (Psalm 18:2 NKJV). ‘I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?’ (Psalm 56:11 NLT). ‘They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord’ (Psalm 112:7 NIV). ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me’ (Psalm 23:4 ESV). ‘I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid’ (John 14:27 NCV). ‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT). ‘Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love’ (Romans 8:38 NLT). Today, fight your fears with God’s Word!
